Responding To The Point
a) If I were a pig in this story, I would escape from the barn to the free wild.
b) If I were the author, I would change the main family. In case of this book, the main character’s girl has a younger brother. However, it is no problem if the brother is lacking. Actually the girl’s character is like an only child because she fondles and takes care of a pig every after school.
c) I like the word, “Modest!!” This word was shouted by mass people in the ceremony because of the spider’s plan. The word of “Modest” is mach for the pig.

The time is about 1952. The place is the farm of the United States.

A girl vs. farmer
Many livestock included a pig vs. farmer

The scene that the pig wins a contest of livestock which is stacked survival. Thanks for the spider’s art which is written “modest”, the pig gets off the Christmas dinner.
5) Theme
Farmer’s house and people live in there. Innocent kid’s live in the farm lives animal even livestock. They cannot realize and accept the real which people eat the caw, and the pig. Someday they may understand it, but this book let remember us pure heart when were child.
6) Symbol
The web is a symbol of this story. The words written by the spider in the web makes the pig special.
7) Irony
Another fat pig wins a prize before the awarding ceremony. He betrayed the booster’s mind. But the pig wins a prize because of spider’s nifty plan. Thanks for the spider’s art which is written “modest”, the pig catches the mind of mass people.
Reflecting On The Story
a) I an interested in the setting that the livestock can speak English. Also, the character is decided on a basis of habit of animal.
b) The girl of main character lives in farm. There are a large house and distance between the house and another house is far.
c) The environment of this story is peaceful than own country.
d) I will compare the conversation among the livestock.
e) The author is maybe naturalist and lived in the country. Author may love kids.
f) I agree with the author’s view of people and life. She describes real people. For example, nervous mother, pure girl, shy boy, rich man, and affected woman.
g) I learned that the animal may has emotion. But I can’t live without meet, so I have to thank for animals.
h) I have not changed my ideas, but I remember the importance of the animal.
i) I protect the pig like the girl, and I stay with him every after school.
