Big Dream

Big Dream

After World WarⅡ, the United Stats caused great important effect for all over the world, involved Japan. The biggest effect is English became universal language. People who live in the nation which is developed country should study English. Also, there are many things which are used English in Japan. For example, the name of things, companies, signs in Japan. But unfortunately, there are many people who cannot use English. Therefore I would like to run the new stile English school for the children and adult. My dream is to be a teacher of cram school that I run myself. Also this dream is the biggest one of my life.
I have three reasons why I run the English cram school for the people. First one is I like teaching for someone. Actually I wanted to be a cabin attendant until freshman of university. I thought the job is best for the woman in Japan. But I know it was narrow horizon. Though I took a job of cram school’s teacher without deep thinking, I noticed that I like teaching for children when I started thinking about my feature. I’m teaching study for children with funny, clearly, and individually. I like smile of the children when they understand study. Also I have perfect confidence in my teaching ability. Second one is I do not like to be employed someone. Though I work at the major company of the cram school, the president makes use of stuff like a machine. He forces hard work which does not mach an hourly wage. I hate the policy of the major company. I think they are addicted money, and I do not want to be like them. Third one is I think the school meets the needs of age. Most of Japanese people want to use English, but they have barrier for foreign language. Some children have possible to work over the world, so they have to English hard. Other children want to communicate with foreign people like a friend. Also, there are many adult who want to study again to cultivate their life. For example, they want to watch the foreign movie, to communicate foreign people, to enjoy reading. Therefore I want to teach not only language, but also knowledge which is history, the way of communication, and difference of Japan and foreign country. In brief, I want to run the new stile cram school for the people. Perhaps the school is not cram school that compels hard work and silent. Maybe the school has interesting lessons which sweeps away the gloomy and tough image of cram school.

New York is the center of economic and artistic in the U.S. The Statue of Liberty, Broadway musical, and central park in New York attract about 200 millions visitors from all over the world. About 400 years ago, New York was the domination of Holland and Britain. Fortunately, the U.S. bought it only 26 dollars. It was reasonable shopping for them. The New York is divided into 5 areas: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island. The main spots of sightseeing are gathered in Manhattan. I will introduce sightseeing areas in Manhattan.
Lower East Side is divided into Chinatown and Little Italy. In Chinatown, there are a lot of people from China, and spoken Chinese. The stores run with lively. On the other hand, Little Italy has static with people and town.
Chelsea was alive with movie and fashion. There is Hotel Chelsea which is loved by artists and eccentrics; Mark Twain, O. Henry, Tomas Wolf. The rooms of the hotel are large and restful. It has become to be lived by people want to be an artist.
Harlem was the most dangerous place in New York. In 1950 to 1960, it was the center place that the civil rights movement. But after that, poverty and drug had spread. Visitors were never appeared because of affection of media; movie and news. Recently visitors are increasing.

IE Book Report

Twain, Mark. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The United States of America: Penguin Classics, 1884, 369 pages.

Responding to the Plot
The main character is Huckleberry Fin who is a pure and mischievous white boy. He lives with Ms. Widow Douglas who is educated, formal, and refined, also she does not have blood relation with Huckleberry. Though she takes care of him like her child, he hates her. Then he cannot stand it and lit out to be free with Jim who is the slave. At first, Huckleberry deals with Jim like an ordinary nigger, and Jim submits to Huckleberry. Gradually Huckleberry looks on Jim as his friend, and wants to help him. Then they made a raft to go the free stats from the slave stats. They meet murder, robber, swindler, good person, and hypocritical during the adventure of Mississippi. As time passes, Huckleberry notices Jim is brave, manly, tolerant, and clever. He understands that Jim is a human nature.
If I were Huckleberry, I would be live with Ms. Widow politely because I do not have courage to go out like him. I could not oppose to adult when I was child. If I were the author, I let the father of Huckleberry regenerate because I do not want to show the wild father’s image for the children. I like the Huckleberry’s saying, “Now, Jim, you’re free man!” This scene describe black person is human being.

Reflecting on the Story
I was interested in the using dialect. Mark Twain uses four dialects that are divided region and class. It was difficult to read it, because I do not know advance English words. Sometimes it was written just pronunciation, so I searched dictionary every time with guessing. The character’s life is many differences with me because they were poor than me. Huckleberry is poor white boy, and Jim is slave black adult. They have luck of education, but they have courage and wisdom. I think they are real clever person. If the book has been made into a film, I compare the dialect with the book. His experience inspired him to write the book. Maybe he hate the age of then that white people discriminates black people. Also, he gave the massage that society has paradox which people think natural is sometimes immoral, which means define the people made is sometimes mistaken. The people may not be able to descript it, or the people may pretend not to realize it. I agree with the author’s view of people and life. But I worry whether he became pessimistic after writing the book because he took too much attention for the incomplete society. I leaned history of America in the 19 century from Huckleberry and Jim. I changed my idea and worth after reading this book. Before reading, I thought the book is funny adventure story, but after leading I understand the book concluded sad thing, immoral thing, and paradox. I realized that he had charged massage in this story.
